In the final, the Iberians prevailed 4.5-2.5. Three of the four finals won by Spanish teams. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Spain outscored Italy 4.5-2.5 to win the European Girls’ Team Championship on the Golf D’Hossegor (par 71) course in the city for which the club is named, France.<\/p>\n

The winners set the tone for the match with a 2-0 win in doubles that made things particularly difficult for the blue girls, who turned in a very generous performance rewarded with a silver that also encapsulates all the other good things they showed in the tournament.<\/p>\n

The Spaniards’ points in the foursomes were scored by Paula Martin Sampedro\/Anna Canado Espinal (2&1 over Natalia Aparicio\/Paris Appendino) and Andrea Revuelta Goicoechea\/Rocio Tejedo Mulet, who prevailed on the last hole against Francesca Fiorellini\/Ginevra Coppa (1 up).<\/p>\n

In the singles blue points by Varese’s Francesca Pompa, who won all the matches played, (3&2 over Cloe Amion Villarino) and Francesca Fiorellini, who overwhelmed Anna Canado Espinal (7&6), then the decisive ones by the Iberian Paula Martin Sampedro (5&4 over Matilde Partele) and Andrea Revuelta Goicoechea (2&1<\/p>\n

over Natalia Aparicio) and a tie between Rocio Tejedo Mulet and Ginevra Coppa.<\/p>\n

Italy, after being allowed into the first round with sixth place in the qualifier, distinguished itself in match play by first overcoming France (4-3), which was defending its title, and then with a great comeback over Sweden (4-3) after a 0-2 disadvantage in the foursomes.<\/p>\n

It is the sixth silver in the 29 editions of the event for the Italian women’s team, in which they have achieved two successes during a great five-year period in which they also took three second places (2014, 2015, 2017), with the other two in 1995 and 1999.<\/p>\n

In the final for third place, the Netherlands overcame Sweden 4-3. In fifth was Ireland (3-2 over England) and in seventh was Denmark (3-2 over France).<\/p>\n
