Welcome to Varese Golf Club
A 14th-century convent as a clubhouse, a technical course winding through ancient trees and incredible views of Lake Varese and Monte Rosa. The Varese Golf Club is the perfect combination of great sporting tradition and an extraordinarily beautiful historic natural environment. Strategically located between Milan and Switzerland.
Between History and Nature
The Varese Golf Club, founded in 1897, settled at its current location in Luvinate in 1934.
The Varese Golf Club Club Club House is an ancient Convent, an example of Romanesque-Lombard architecture, built in the 12th century by the “Magistri Comacini” who housed Benedictine nuns until the 15th century when St. Charles Borromeo decreed its closure.
The Cloister: frescoes and enchanting views
The building features the magnificent cloister of the recently restored church.
Frescos dating back to the 1500s can be seen at the entrance to the room where the award ceremonies are held today. From the terrace there is a magnificent view of Hole 1 and Lake Varese.
The Pathway
“Varese can only be called an old field because of its date of birth; otherwise I believe it is a course still capable of hosting major events.”
Alberto Binaghi – coach and technical manager of the National Amateur Teams and coach of Matteo Manassero.
