In our historic location built in the 12th century by the “Magistri Comacini,” we host an 18-hole course designed by architects Gannon and Blanford. Our course is an undulating par 72 and technically very interesting. Each hole is nestled amidst the greenery of imposing century-old trees, offering views of incomparable panoramic beauty that reach the Monte Rosa Chain, Lakes Maggiore, Varese and Monate, as well as the hills of Sacro Monte and Campo dei Fiori, immediately behind the golf course.
The Club House: a fine place where you can breathe history.
The Varese Golf Club Club Club House is an old Convent, part of the same 12th-century architectural complex that housed Benedictine nuns until the 15th century when St. Charles Borromeo decreed its closure. The building features the magnificent cloister and the recently restored church. At the entrance to the room, where prize-giving is now held, frescoes probably dating back to the 1500s can be seen, and from our terrace there is a magnificent view of Hole 1 and Lake Varese. In addition to frescos of undeniable beauty, inside our Club House you can eat at our Restaurant or be enchanted by new equipment at our Pro Shop.

Varese can only be called a dated field because of its year of birth; otherwise I believe it is a course capable of hosting major events. The fact that almost all holes tighten considerably at the 230-meter mark suggests that it is not a “hitters” course and is one of the reasons why, despite the considerable advantages brought by new equipment technologies over the past decade, scores have not dropped as dramatically as on other courses. In addition to the variety of nature in which it is set, Varese offers 18 holes in which there is no duplication; in fact, each hole is completely different from the others.
